Capsule Geology

The Cuds 4 showing area is underlain by Devonian to Permian sedimentary rocks of the Stikine Assemblage. The stratigraphy is intruded by Early Jurassic granodiorite of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite, regionally mapped near the plot location of the showing, and Eocene granite of the Major Hart Pluton occurring several kilometres to the northeast.

Four samples, located 500 metres east-northeast of the Cuds 3 and 4 claim post, are anomalous in gold and copper, with values ranging from 1.30 to 2.47 grams per tonne gold and 1.08 to 2.71 per cent copper; sample 398380 assayed 2.47 grams per tonne gold, 20 grams per tonne silver, 1.3 per cent copper and 0.14 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 21138). Samples 39830, 39831, and 39828, taken within a 20 metre wide area, consist of 1 per cent pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite and are hosted in strongly limonitic metavolcanics.
